Stephen "Steve" Joseph Lamie passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016 with his wife and son at his side at the University of Michigan. He was born in Traverse City on November 6, 1950 to Samuel and Phyllis (Ramsey) Lamie. He was a lifelong resident of Traverse City.
Steve worked for Cone Drive Gear from May 1974 until March 2013 when he retired due to his illness.
Steve's favorite time of year was deer season. He loved hunting and spending as much time as he could out to his cabin. He loved watching the deer and the birds and feeding the bunnies in his back yard. He also enjoyed snowmobiling and riding his Harley Davidson. He collected classic cars and could always be found in his garage tinkering around with one of his old cars. He loved sitting in the sun, swimming in his pool and watching Nascar.
On March 15, 1975 he married Adriana "Lonnie" Smith in Kalamazoo, MI. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, his son Stephen Jr., his father Sam and two brothers.
He was predeceased by his daughter Nicole in 1983, mother Phyllis in 2008 and his brother Dan in 2015.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2106 at 11 a.m. at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home; with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Pastor Jane Lippert will officiate.
Interment will be at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
