Dr. Steven Starr, 74, of Traverse City and formerly of Detroit passed away January 10, 2019 at his home at Glen Eagle.

Steven was born on September 13, 1944 in Detroit to the late Julius and Anne (Tkatch) Starr.

Steve was a Podiatrist for over 25 years in the Detroit Area. He was a high level racquet ball player. He enjoyed water sports and playing cards. He also liked to support Detroit sports teams. He was a devoted member of Congregation Beth Shalom. Above all else he loved spending time with his family.

Steve was preceded in death by his brothers Robert and Jerry.

Steve is survived by his son Dr. Jay (Rachel) Starr; son Jared (Ali) Starr; grandchildren Abraham, Jonah, Jackson, Charlie, Olivia and Ari; and sister Rita.

The service honoring his life will be held on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 1:00 pm at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will be sitting Shiva at 5555 Marquette Drive in Traverse City Monday evening.

Memorial contributions in his honor may be directed to the Anti-defamation League.
