Steven Douglas Lockwood, 79, of Traverse City passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Munson Hospice House.
Steve was born on May 28, 1942, in Grand Island, Nebraska to the late Richard and Caroline Lockwood. He married Bonnie Lynn Reau on May 1, 1970 in Monroe, Michigan and they lovingly raised two wonderful daughters.
Steve loved to travel, whether it was on business or with his family. His thirty-seven-year career with Ford Motor Company afforded him the opportunity to work and live abroad in interesting places. Retiring to Traverse City gave him a chance to pursue his other loves--golf and fly-fishing. Standing in a trout stream, watching the wildlife, was Steve's idea of a good day. He will be remembered by those who knew him for his love of the outdoors, his quick wit and good humor.
Steve is survived by his wife of 51 years, Bonnie; daughters Stephanie Lockwood and Erica Lockwood; in-laws Kathy and Rick Bodette; nephews Thomas and David Bodette; and his fur baby Casey.
Steve is preceded in death by his sister Kay Burke.
Private family services will take place at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to The Cherryland Humane Society, The Grand Traverse Land Conservancy, or Munson Hospice House.
