Sylvia Ruth Rosinski, 81, of Traverse City passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at King Adult Living surrounded by her loving family.
Sylvia was born Wednesday, June 3, 1936, to Fred and Ruth (Akins) McWatters in Petoskey, MI. She graduated from Traverse City High School in 1954. She married Gordon Rosinski January 29, 1955, and together they shared 56 years of marriage. In 2004 she overcame her fear of flying and traveled to Hawaii with her sisters on a trip of a lifetime.
Sylvia loved children. She raised 8 children of her own and was a 'mom' to many others. During the summer months there would always be a dozen or so neighborhood children around the Rosinski home. She turned her love of children into practice and opened a daycare that she ran for many years. Sylvia also worked at Meijers for 10 years. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Family Worship Center.
She is survived by her daughters Carlene Rosinski of Traverse City, Ruthanne (Gordon) Jesse of Seattle, WA; sons Edward Rosinski of Traverse City, Norm (Kathy) Rosinski of Traverse City, Jim Rosinski of Buckley, Steven (Sarah) Rosinski of Traverse City, Bill (Jamie) Rosinski of Traverse City, Chuck (Amanda) Rosinski of Colorado Springs, CO, sisters Virginia (Max) Bolser, Sharon (Louis) LaFranier, Donna Penland; brother Richard (Sylvia) McWatters; 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gordon Rosinski, parents Fred and Ruth (Akins) McWatters.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 11 a.m, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m., at the Mt. Zion Family Worship Center. Pastor Jared Ingle will officiate services.
