Obituary

Tamera Sue Knipe, 71, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2024.

Born on November 27, 1952, to the late Leon Ide and Gertrude (Rehkofp) in Flint, Michigan, Tami had a deep love for her family and a profound connection with nature, where she could be found tending to her flowerbeds. This brought her immense joy. Tami was also an avid animal lover, particularly of her cherished four-legged companion, Betsy.

Known for her compassion, Tami welcomed everyone into her life with warmth, happiness, and an upbeat, positive attitude. She was selfless, always putting others first. Family gatherings meant the world to her, with Christmas being her absolute favorite holiday. Christmas was a time Tami particularly looked forward to, as it allowed her to gather with her family, share stories, exchange gifts, and soak in the spirit of the season. She embraced all seasons, spending her winters in Florida before returning to Northern Michigan in the spring.

Tami was dedicated in all that she did. She spent 10 years working as a CNA at Munson Medical Center on the A4 level, where she helped countless patients, listened to their stories, and became a beloved fixture in the hospital.

Tami is survived by her mother; Darlene Ide, sons and daughters; Todd (Kim) Cox, Briget Cox, Todd (Maureen) Knipe, Jeannine (Raymond) Haslip, as well as 10 grandchildren; Rachel, Brianna, Billy, Montana, Jamie, Ian, Danielle, Tyler, Aidan, and Ashton. Also surviving are four brothers and two sisters: Terry (Dawn) Ide, Norman (Marie) Ide, Vincent (Rochelle) Goodenow, Brian (Robin) Goodenow, Tresa (Eric) Lockhart, LeeAnn (George) Salisbury, as well as many

nieces and nephews, as well as two very close friends; Jackie Howe and Helen Bayle.

Tami was preceded in death by her father; Clifford Goodenow; a son; Merlin Cox, and four grandchildren; Tristan, Taylor, Austin, and Amber.

A memorial service will take place at a future date. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial donation to Tami's family c/o Briget Cox.
