Tayler Levi Curtis, 32, of Traverse City, Michigan died in his home sometime before Sunday, February 15, 2026. He was a 2011 Graduate of Traverse City High School. He is survived by his mother Cindy Moore-Curtis Rahn (CC), father and stepmother David and Andrea Curtis, sibling Leigh Curtis, birth parents, birth siblings, many cousins, aunts and uncles, and his dog and constant companion, Freya.
Tayler was a recovering heroin addict, 8 years sober, who battled mental health challenges every day. He was passionate about sharing his story and outreach with anyone who needed help. He served his community working at Harm Reduction, speaking, advocating, handing out clothes and Narcan and simply being present for those who needed him. He never got too far ahead of his demons and took his own life, alone in his home. His last act was to organize and plan for the care of Freya. We don't know what the final straw was and we never will.
