Terrance Gary Buyze

Williamsburg-Terrance Gary Buyze was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on 9/30/1950 and passed away on 10/02/13.
Terry graduated from Mancelona High School in 1968. He married Cheryl (Breithaupt) Buyze on April 3rd, 1971 and served in the United States Navy for six years. Terry and Cheryl returned to Traverse City where Terry functioned in several occupations including electronics technician, oil field laborer and business owner of Traverse Casing Co., several insurance and investment businesses and owner of Senior Security, Inc. He had an entreprenurial spirit and was always looking for his next opportunity to create employment for himself and others.
Terry had served as an elder and was an usher at Trinity Lutheran Church. He fully supported Trinity Lutheran Christian Day School and coached track and basketball for the elementary students. He was active as a volunteer and blood donor in this community.
Terry embraced life to the fullest and loved learning new things. He lived a selfless life and loved to give of his time and talents in ways that would help others. He was a man of integrity and led by example with a manner of living that demonstrated his own moral code. Terry's faith sustained him through many times of change and struggle. Many lives were touched because of his willingness to share his spiritual journey that has now brought him into his eternal place of victory.
Terry is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl of Traverse City and their three sons: Jesse & Becky (Davidson) Buyze in Traverse City, Scott & Andrea (Marnett) Buyze in Grand Rapids, and Kevin Buyze in Traverse City. He also leaves behind four grandchildren: Tianna Holt, Brayden Buyze, Solomon Buyze and Sheynan Buyze. Terry was one of four children born to Adrian and Jean (Bock) Buyze. He is survived by his mother, Jean Buyze and his two brothers and two sisters: Adrian (Sonny) Buyze & his wife Jessie in Oregon; Randy & Mary (Swikoski) Buyze in Mancelona; Ginny Czarnecki in Oregon and Amy & Larry Jones in Coldwater, MI. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Terry was preceded in death by his father, Adrian Cornel Buyze.

Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church, at 3:00 P.M, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Robert Zagore will officiate.

Full Military Honors will follow under the auspices of the VFW Cherryland Post #2780.

Cremaiton has taken place.
