Terrie Rae Mills

Terrie Rae (Lyon) Mills, age 71, of Traverse City and La Feria, Texas was taken home to be with the Lord on January 2, 2014 after a valiant battle with cancer.

Terrie enjoyed her family, friends, woodcarving , many, many crafts and her menagerie of animals. Terrie graced many children's lives over ther thirty-seven years of providing daycare. She loved Michigan, but also grew to love her winters in Texas. She loved the Lord.

Terrie is survived by her husband, William Mills, her daughters Yvonne (Timothy) Tilley, Wendy (Thomas) Sauerman, stepchildren Paula Mills, Jeffrey Mills and Randy (Sara) Mills, sister Lori (Donald) Smart, eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harlan and Bessie Lyon.

Visitation will take place at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home on Sunday, from 5 until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be private for family only. Burial will be in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Munson Hospice c/o Munson Healthcare Regional Foundation, 1150 Medical Campus Drive, Traverse City, MI 49684 or to the Cherryland Humane Society, 1750 Ahlberg Rd., Traverse City, MI 49686.
