Terry Joe Banks, 80, of Traverse City passed away June 5, 2023 at Munson Medical Center.

Terry was born on January 10, 1943 in Rogers City, MI to the late James Franklin and Natalie Joyce (Chipman) Banks. He married the love of his life Beverly Jean Novak on June 11, 1966.

Honorably Terry served for our Country in the United States Navy during the Cuban Missal Crisis. He was very proud of his service to our country. After his time in the Navy he went to work for the United States Government where he retired after many years of faithful hard work.

Terry was the Detroit Tigers number one fan for well over 50 years win or lose. He loved bowling and mowing his lawn. Overall his family and especially his many grandchildren brought him the most joy. Fondly he will always be remembered as the best Husband, Dad and Papa ever.

Terry is survived by his wife of almost 60 years Beverly, his daughter Nicole (David) Hurst, grandchildren, Corey (Heather) Hurst, Emalee, Sarah, Angie, Airie, and Daisy who will miss him more then warm sunny days in the winter months. He is also survived by his niece Suzanne Sly whom he was like a father to.
He will also be leaving behind his good friends Doug McWaters and Jane Daly.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Brothers and his very good friend Mike Wyatt.
