Thad Alan King

Thad Alan King, 79, of Traverse City, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. Thad was born in Hutchinson, Kansas, on November 4, 1938, to Herbert and Helen Hamilton (Honey) King. On June 6, 1964, Thad married Dorothy Elaine Burton, the love of his life, who passed away on March 29, 1988.

Thad graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in engineering.

In his spare time, Thad enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, painting, and sitting by the lake. He most loved spending time with his dogs and was especially fond of dachshunds and miniature schnauzers.

Thad is survived by his children, Kim (Dale) Tumey and Denise Braun; and grandchildren, Ashleigh, Evan, and Eric Tumey, and Megan and Corey Braun.
He is also survived by his siblings, Corrinne King and Ann (Cliff) Donlay.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Elaine.

A celebration of life gathering will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2018, from 5 to 8 pm, at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association.
