Obituary

TRAVERSE CITY — Pastor Albert A. Fall, 86, of Traverse City, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010, at his home. Albert was born on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 1924, to Fredrick William and Alice (Blackhurst) Fall in Niles. Having graduated from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II.Following his discharge, he continued his education at Asbury College and Asbury Seminary in Wilmore, Ky.On Dec. 18, 1949, he married the love of his life, Hilda Elizabeth Rou in Reddick, Fla., a marriage that spanned 59 years. Hilda passed away on April 14, 2009.A retired Free Methodist Pastor, Pastor Fall served his Lord faithfully at churches in Erie, Snover, Buchanan, Garden City, Three Oaks, Hillsdale, Watervliet, Mayville, Deerfield and Bangor. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time, but also enjoyed waterskiing, which he did until he was 80 years of age.Pastor Fall is survived by his children, Diane (Tim) Reish, of Virginia, Denise (Mike) Bowers, of Colorado, Mark (Elaine) Fall, of Traverse City, and Karna (Rick) Fellows, of Kalamazoo. Also surviving are his grandchildren, whom he so dearly loved and prayed for, Amber, Charity, Dana, Kyle, Josh, Heath, Andrew and Shelley. Pastor is survived by his siblings, Meredith Fall, of Oklahoma, Art Fall, of Washington, Pauline Boss, of Spring Arbor, and Beatrice Erickson, of Traverse City; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Ruth Susan, Ruby Groesser, Carson Fall and Dale Fall. Services celebrating Pastor Fall's life will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16, in the chapel of New Hope Community Church, with Pastor David Standfest officiating.
