TRAVERSE CITY -- Theodore Burly Livernois, 78, of Traverse City, passed away Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, at Munson Medical Center, with his loving family by his side. Ted was born April 14, 1932, in Detroit, to the late B. Theodore and Alma Glenn (Hyner) Livernois.
On Feb. 20, 1952, he married his childhood sweetheart, Lorraine "Rainey" A. Lattner. Together they raised three children.
Ted was a contractor/land developer by trade and was always searching out that perfect piece of property.
There was always time for a special trip on the pontoon boat, loaded with Rainey, kids and grandkids, around his cherished Silver Lake. In later years, kayaking the shores on the calm summer days was a favorite for this "Papa by the lake."
Ted is survived by his children: Sharon (Michael) Cox and children; Joel (Allycia Boudreau) Cox, son, Riley and daughter, Isabella; Scott Cox and daughter Paige; and Bryan Cox; Ted (Marie) Livernois and daughters, Lisa and Laura Walker; Susanne (Matt) Courtade and daughters, Gabriel (Dustin) Yaple and children, Corinne, Conner and Lleyton Krumlauf; Erin (Nate) McManus and son, Oliver; Laura (Joshua) Hentschel and daughters, Ainsleigh and Brianna, Katelyn Courtade and son, Bryce; and Rebekah Courtade; a special brother-in-law, Bernie "Buck" (Sandy) Lattner; and many nieces and nephews.
Ted was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rainey on Nov. 18, 2008; his parents; and sisters, Nannette Grigsby and Noel Patton.
Burial for both Ted and Rainey and a moment of remembrance will take place at noon on Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
