Theresa Louise Kuhlman, 92, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 23, 2024.

Theresa was born on March 9, 1932, in Cadillac, Michigan, to the late Alfred and Cecilia (Long) Largent. The family moved to Traverse City when she was young and she graduated from Traverse City High School. She married the late Gerard Joseph Kuhlman on December 1, 1973, in Traverse City, and together they lovingly raised a big blended family.

Theresa was a devoted lifelong member of St. Francis Catholic Church. In her younger years, she spent many fulfilling years as a receptionist in dental and medical offices and later she enjoyed working at Bridal Shops. She also had a knack for sales, selling jewelry for Contempo, and later, Sarah Coventry.

In her spare time, Theresa enjoyed sewing and cake decorating, crafting beautiful creations for family and friends. She was a dedicated 4-H leader for many years, where she shared her skills and passion with others. She and her husband Jerry loved to dance and were active members of a local dance club. Known for her charm and humor, Theresa was often teased for her perpetual tardiness—so much so that family joked she would be late to her own funeral. She also enjoyed playing a good game of Yatzee with her family even up until her passing. Her stuffed Dog Charlie brought her great joy in her later years and he was the perfect companion.

Theresa is survived by her children, Peggy (Francis) Kuhlman, Pamela (Edward) Joslin, Paul Weese, and Phillip Weese, Terry Kuhlman, Tony (Cathy) Kuhlman, Thomas Kuhlman, Tracey Weatherholt, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, her sister Joan Thayer, her in-laws Caroline Largent and Jerry Brief, as well as numerous other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Jerry in 2020, her siblings, Alfred Largent, James (Thelma) Largent, Thomas (Ruth) Largent, Barbara Brief, Janet (George) Blake, Gary Thayer, her son Patrick D. Weese, and her great grandson Eric Alexander.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Monday, December 2, 2024 at St. Francis Catholic Church with a visitation held one hour prior. Burial will follow after the luncheon at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.

Theresa's warmth, creativity, and humor will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her family would like to thank the Staff at Cherry Hill Nest, Cherry Hill House 1 and Hospice of Michigan for all their love and support over the last year.
