We are sad to announce the passing of our beautiful Mother Therese Mary Allore (Alm) on June 26, 2022. She was proceeded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Jerome Allore. Therese was born in Chicago on May 19, 1938 to George and Anne Alm. The Alm's had 3 other children Julie Cunningham (Dick), Grant Alm (Donna), and Liz Wiersema (Al). The family moved to Muskegon MI where Therese, known as Tess or Terry back then, met Jerome at Wolfe Lake. They were married Novemember 8th, 1957.
Therese and Jerome had five children; Christopher Allore, Lisa Allore, Timothy Allore, Susanna Piscatella (Mike) and Daniel Allore (Kate). Therese created a great life for her family. They moved to Traverse City in 1969. Summers were filled with camping throughout the USA and Canada and winters were spent at Holiday Hills skiing. Her children were very active in sports and Therese was always there cheering them on. In 1979 Therese and Jerry, along with Sue and Dan, moved to Harbor Springs. Therese returned to Central Michigan University and received a Bachelor of Art's degree in Education. She attended a summer study program on Beaver Island in the art of paper making. Therese and Jerry moved to Oscoda where Therese was the contractor for building their dream home on Lake Huron.
Therese and Jerry moved back to Traverse City to spend more time with their Grandchildren, Adam Allore (Jessica), Bryan Allore (Laura), Ashley Peplinski (Eric), Carly Leman (Jordan), Jessica Gauthier, Phillip Allore (Mary), Cassie Allore, and Tori Allore (Dennis). Their Great Grandchild gave them great pleasure: Annalyn, Aidan, Gwen, Leland, James, Charlotte, Nova, and Kaytrin.
Friendship was very important to Therese. She has remained close to two friends from middle school. She also formed a group called the Wild Whacky Women and would spend weekends at each others homes celebrating friendships and just having fun. Therese and Jerry enjoyed wintering in Puerta Vallarta MX where they made friends with locals and others from all over the USA and Canada. A huge desire to see friends in Australia made Therese overcome her fear of flying. After that she enjoyed traveling to Spain, Mexico, Greece, Bahama's, Italy, and France.
Therese was very loved and will be greatly missed. We are happy that she will be joining the love of her life, Jerome, in Heaven.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place for Therese at Christ The King Catholic Church on Friday, July 8, 2022 at 3pm with a visitation beginning at 2pm. A luncheon will be held following the Mass. The family is being cared for by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
