Thomas Owen Carney Sr., of Traverse City, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home in the arms of his wife, Josephine on November 3, 2023.

Tom was born on March 8, 1931, to Robert and Mary Carney in Cincinnati Ohio. The family moved to Detroit where Tom graduated from Mackenzie High School. Tom served as a sergeant in the US Marines during the Korean war.

Tom married Josi Dornenburg in 1955 and together raised five children. Tom was an executive at Ford Motor Company for 36 years. After retiring, Tom and Josi moved to Traverse City where they enjoyed boating, golfing, gardening and time with family and friends.

Tom was predeceased by his parents, sister Mary, brothers Bob and Jim, and grandson, Tommy III.

Tom is survived by his wife of 68 years, their five children and spouses, his sister, nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
