Mr. Thomas J. Anderson of Traverse City passed away December 27, 2013 at his residence. He was born January 22, 1947 to John E. and Betty (Wayeshe) Anderson in Northport. Tom married Victoria Margaret "Vicki" Mashka on Aprill 11, 1970 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in mapleton.Tom was a life time member of the Traverse City Elks Lodge and past treasurer of the Eagles and a member of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians. He worked for Map-Pul Equipment and T& J Equipment for many years in sales and lastly for Meijer in the sporting goods area. He loved spending time with his family and his black lab Malayla and Tom was a huge sports fan, he would watch any sporting event that would be on ESPN but always would enjoy watching the Tigers, Pistons, Red Wings, Lions, Wolverines and Spartans along with all other sporting events, Tom was also an avid golfer and bowler.
Tom was predeceased by his wife Vicki of 40 years, son Eddie, brothers; Harvey and John Eric and his sisters Brenda and Linda. He is survived by his daughters; Joanne(Scott) Winowiecki of Traverse City and Lisa(Joe) Cox of Waterford, MI. and son Tom Anderson of Tempe, AZ. Grandchildren Craig and Kellen Winowiecki and Patrick, Isabel, Thomas and John Cox. His brother Charles "Jumbo" Anderson of Arlington, VA., Uncle Tony Wayeshe of Fountain Hills, AZ., Sister; Jennifer Baker and brother Jonathan Anderson of Williamsburg, Brothers; Jeffery Anderson of Elk Rapids, Jacob Anderson of Dallas, TX. and James Anderson of Traverse City.
Visitation will take place on Thursday January 2, 2014 from 5-8PM at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home with a Funeral service on Friday at 11AM with visitation one hour prior at the Funeral Home.
