Obituary

Thomas Lee Lewis, Sr., 70, of Traverse City passed away peacefully on Monday, June 24, 2019 at Munson Hospice House. Tom was born on October 19, 1948 in Muskegon, Michigan. He married the love of his life Charlotte Razo on June 5, 1971. Tom proudly served his country in the US Army retiring in 1995 at the rank of E-7 (Sergeant First Class) after 27 years of service. From 1969 to 1971 Tom did a tour in the Vietnam War. He also served in the Army National Guard at the 182nd Transportation Company in Traverse City. He was a member of both the Cherryland V.F.W. post 2780 and American Legion post 35 in Traverse City. He drove for BATA from 2007 thru 2013 assigned to "Meals on Wheels" delivering meals to people in need. In his spare time, Tom enjoyed bowling, fishing with his grandsons and tinkering in his garage, especially working on small engines.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Charlotte, three sons; Thomas Lewis Jr., Matt (Tracy Hawkins) Lewis and Chad (Georgia) Lewis, two grandsons; John C. Urquhart and Cristopher Lewis. Also surviving are his mother, Clarinda Terry, and two brothers; Mike (Pat) Rhanor and Larry (Barbra) Rhanor as well as many nieces, nephews, in-laws and extended family.
He was preceded in death by Clarence Wrzesinski and brother-in-law, Harry Razo.
In accordance with Tom's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
