Thomas G. Moran

Thomas Garfield Moran, 77, of Traverse City passed away November 3, 2017 at Munson Hospice House.

Tom was born on March 21, 1940 at the family farm in Williamsburg to the late Thomas C. and Mildred M. (Garey) Moran.

Tom graduated from Traverse City High School in 1959. He was a Registered Land Surveyor with the State of Michigan Department of Natural Resources and retired after 35 years. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, collecting guns and antique tractors. He was very proud to own the full E-Series of Canadian Co-op tractors. Tom also enjoyed the Buckley Old Engine Show and would call square dances at the show. He liked to dance at the Hayloft and frequently enjoyed the Celtic music at Little Bohemia. Tom liked to travel south during the winters to visit friends in Florida and in the Gulf area. He will be greatly missed.

Tom is survived by his daughters Valerie Moran and MaryEllen (Daniel) Williams; grandchildren Katelyn and Daniel Bormett; sisters Carolyn Au, Barbara Moran, Mary Ann Fudge, and special nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents and brother Tim Moran.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday November 13, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. Francis Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 10 am. Visitation will also be held on Sunday, November 12, 2017 from 4 - 6 pm at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Munson Hospice House.
