Interlochen – Thomas "Tom" James Napolitano, 64 of Interlochen, passed away after a brief illness, June 10, 2014 at Munson Medical Center.
Tom was born October 17, 1949 to Nicholas and the late Marjorie (Reynolds) Napolitano in Saginaw.
Tom graduated from St. Andrews High School in 1967 and then bravely served his country in Vietnam.
Tom was employed by General Motors in Saginaw for 30 years and retired at the age of 47.
Tom met Susan ("Susie" to Tom) Jane Ireland in 1972 and they were married in 1974. In May of 2014 (with help from their friends) they celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. Tom and Sue lived in Saginaw, Birch Run and Frankenmuth before moving to Interlochen in 2002.
Tom had many hobbies. When he was a bit younger, he played softball and bowled. He loved fishing on Green Lake and our area fly fishing streams and hunting. Later he took up golfing and like his other interest, he excelled.
Tom is a member of Interlochen Golf Club and Grand Traverse Archers.
Tom is survived by his wife Susan (Ireland) Napolitano; Father, Nicholas Napolitano; Sister, Theresa (Ralph) Furlo; Brother-In-Laws; Sister-In- Laws; nieces and nephews and many lifelong friends.
His memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home at 305 Sixth Street in Traverse City with a visitation held from 10-11am. To watch the service live online go to
