Thomas "Tom" Albert Otten, 80, of Williamsburg, passed away November 8, 2020. Tom was proud of his honorable service aboard the USS Turner Joy with the US Navy. He served as a firefighter for the City of Royal Oak for many years in addition to being a licensed builder.
Following retirement from the fire department, he and his wife Sandra moved to the Traverse City area. Amongst his many talents he was a graphic artist, painter and woodcarver. He was able to enjoy more of his hobbies while living up north. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. Above all, Tom was a kind man, and a loving husband, father and grand-father. We will miss him deeply.
Tom leaves behind Sandra Otten, his wife 56 years; daughter Holly Frances (Matthew) Darcy; son Douglas Albert (Anessa) Otten; grandchildren Thomas Otten, Clark Darcy and Vivie; great-grandson Silas; sister Mary Jane Bartley; as well as several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Richard Otten.
At this time no services are planned in accordance with Tom's wishes.
