Thomas Gregory Rollo

TRAVERSE CITY - Thomas "Tom" Gregory Rollo, 59, of Traverse City, passed away at his home on September 5, 2016. Tom was born in Grand Rapids on January 4, 1957 to his parents Francis and Virginia (Larsen) Rollo. He attended Wyoming Park High School and upon graduation he enlisted and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He later attended and graduated from Grand Valley State University earning a B.S. Degree. Tom was employed at Southern Petroleum Laboratories for 20 years as an environmental scientist.
Tom married Kathleen Wetzel on October 1, 1977 in Orlando FL., and the couple raised two children and celebrated 39 years of marriage together and lived in Traverse City for the past 26 years.
Fall was Tom's favorite Season and he loved camping, hunting, spending time with his family, his pets and visiting the Upper Peninsula. He was known for cooking phenomenal batches of chili and being a huge Green Bay Packer fan.
Tom is survived by his parents, Francis and Virginia Rollo of Grand Rapids; wife Kathleen; daughter, Kellianne (Nicholas) Siler of Lake Ann; son, Joshua (Annie) Rollo of Lake Ann; grandchildren, Wyatt Grant Siler and Henry John Siler of Lake Ann, Amelia Jane Rollo and Maya Louise Rollo of Lake Ann; sibling, Doug Rollo of Grand Rapids; in-laws, Patricia J. VanDoren of Traverse City, and Della Wetzel of Indianapolis and many nieces, nephews, cousins and cat Cheddar.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 23, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Wyoming, MI., with a luncheon to follow. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
