LAKE LEELANAU — Thomas (Tom) Reginald Sigmann, 84, of Lake Leelanau and formerly of Union Lake, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012.Tom was born on Sept. 1, 1927, to the late Rex and Beatrice (Clark) Sigmann in Detroit. Tom is preceded in death by his wife Eleanor Rita (Santoro) Sigmann.Tom honorably served our country in the United States Navy during War World II. After his service, Tom passionately worked in the automobile industry as a designer and checker for 44 years.Tom will be remembered fondly as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Tom will always be remembered for his outstanding work ethic and his mechanical intuitions. Also, Tom possessed ingenuity for creative problem-solving through a lifetime of accomplishments. Surviving Tom are his children, Carl (Nancy) Sigmann, Clifford (Debra) Sigmann, Edward (fiancée Joy Davenport) Sigmann, Michael Sigmann and Thea Sigmann; five grandchildren, Shiloh (David) Gallagher, Krystle Sigmann, Richard Sigmann, Miranda Brehmer and Concetta Brehmer; and eight great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held for Tom at noon Saturday, March 10, at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home with a visitation held one hour prior.
