Traverse City - Thomas Craig White, 51, of Traverse City, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, October 6, 2015 while doing one of the things he loved, playing tennis. Tom is now at home with his Lord, Jesus Christ.

Tom was born in Traverse City on Saturday, February 29, 1964, one of five children born to Nancy Ann (Eoff) and Lysle Hamilton "Ham" White, Sr. He attended Traverse City schools, graduating in 1982 from Traverse City Central. Tom continued his education at Davenport University earning his Bachelors degree in Business. He was currently working on his Master's in Divinity through Liberty University. Tom married the former Danielle Johnson on June 19, 1987 in Traverse City. She preceded him in death on December 2, 2003. On July 23, 2005, he married E. Daiva Trumbull in Traverse City.

Tom impacted so many lives through his many activities that he enjoyed: Basketball, Tennis and Coaching. He served as a beloved Pastor at Long Lake Friends Church for the last 5 years. He was a counselor, teacher, supporter and friend to many.
He enjoyed so many outdoor activities such as kayaking, hiking and biking. He loved playing guitar and making pizza, but most of all sharing the love and saving grace of Jesus to everyone he knew.
He previously was the owner of Great Lake's Submarine Company, spent many years working in book publishing, and his last position was at Networks Northwest as a Public Information Specialist.

Tom is survived by his wife Daiva; his daughter Madelaine Louise White; and his step-children, Jade (Jory) Smith of Traverse City, Jared Olshove of Broken Arrow, OK, Natalie Strehl of Traverse City; his siblings Barbara (Jim) Maitland of Williamsburg, Patti Turner of Traverse City, Roger (Martha) White of Guelph, Ontario, many nieces and nephews, his aunt Midge Ackland of Boyne City, many cousins, the extended Trumbull family, and Danielle's Johnson/Reid family. Tom was also preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother Lysle Hamilton "Whiz" White, Jr.

The service celebrating Tom's life will begin at 10:30 AM Saturday, Oct 10, 2015 at First Congregational Church with The Rev. Chad Oyer and Pastor Anthony Weber officiating. There will be a coffee reception to follow. Then, family and friends are welcome to join for the Inurnment which will take place at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens at 2 P.M.

The family asks that Tom be remembered through memorial contributions to a trust fund for his daughter's, Madelaine and Natalie, college funds. Envelopes will be available at the church and from the funeral home.
