Obituary

Thomas Joseph Zywicki, beloved husband of Dorothy (Kraitz), beloved brother-in-law of Leonard Kraitz, devoted father to Edward, Ronald (Peg), and Sharon (Paul), cherished grandfather to nine grandchildren (with Grace, who preceded him), and great-grandfather to two, passed away on December 23, 2023. He was 87 years old.

A proud veteran, Thomas served his country in the United States Army, demonstrating his dedication to both family and nation.

Thomas found solace and inspiration in the hymn "On Eagles Wings," which echoed his unwavering faith and commitment throughout his life.

He was known for being "the salt of the earth," embodying the values of hard work, generosity, and faith. His favorite saying, "Believe half of what you see, not what you hear," was a guiding principle in his life, teaching those around him to discern truth from rumor.

Thomas Zywicki was a man of action. He was always willing to lend a hand and possessed an innate ability to "figure out" and "fix" anything, especially around the house. He poured his heart into his projects, often involving his beloved family in his endeavors. His love for his family was boundless and evident in every aspect of his life.

In this time of sorrow, we remember Thomas as a man of generosity, a beacon of love, integrity, humility, and compassion. He leaves behind a legacy of selflessness and unwavering dedication to his family that will forever inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Thomas will be dearly missed, but his memory and the lessons he imparted will continue to live on in our hearts.

A private family committal was held at St. Joseph Cemetery in Maple City.
