Timothy "Tim" Lee Donnelly, 73 of Traverse City passed away peacefully on Saturday December 14, 2013 at Munson Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Tim was born on February 17, 1940 in Washington DC to the late Thomas A. and Eleanor Florence (Taylor) Donnelly. He married the love of his life, Donna Maxine Casselman on October 25, 1958.
Tim honorably served our Country From 1957-1961 in the United States Coast Guard. After his time in service he was a lineman for Cherryland Electric. Also, he was a dedicated Fireman and Fire Chief for Elmwood Township from 1962-1991.
In his spare time, Tim loved to spend time with family and friends, was an avid sportsman who loved fishing and hunting. He was a talented wood worker and he was a dedicated Scout Master for the Boy Scouts for many years.
Surviving Tim is his wife Donna, children Sue (Terry) Wilkins of Traverse City, Allen (Deb) Donnelly of Kingsley, grandchildren Amanda, Sarah, Justin, Allee, Scott (Liza) Petersen, Josh (Lindsey) Petersen, Kirt (Chelsea) Grow, Kyle Grow, great grandchildren, Hannah, Thomas, Caden, Brandon, Nathan, Gavin, Kamrin, siblings, Florence (Wes) Hower, Richard (Nancy) Donnelly, Ellie (Don) Clark, Chris (Richard) Pifer, sister and brother in-laws, Roberta Manville, Richard Casselman, Dorothy Antes, and several very special nieces, nephews and cousins.
Tim is preceded in death by his parents and beloved son Joseph.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 from 4-7pm with a rosary held at 7pm at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Francis Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 11am. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Father Fred Foundation and to the American Legion Post 35.
