Obituary

Timothy (Tim) McCaw passed away unexpectedly in his home, April 25th, 2022 at the age of 71.

Tim was a proud second-generation Traverse City native born July 14, 1950. He spent his formative years helping his family with their cherry farm on Old Mission Peninsula. Graduating from Traverse City Senior High and Northwestern Michigan College. He enjoyed his career as a computer programmer for various local businesses before retiring from Cherry Growers, Inc.

During his four years of service, he was awarded the Missileman Badge and earned the rank of Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force for his work maintaining Minuteman II ICBMs.

Tim was an avid genealogist and enjoyed the challenge of tracing his family back centuries, finding both peasants and royalty. As his family, we know how very important an obituary is in the research, so we hope to have done him proud and be of help for any future family genealogists in his honor.

He treasured time with his close lifelong friends and family. He also enjoyed 'perfecting' his golf game, and was liked on the course for his sense of humor and love of the game.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Frances and Leo McCaw. Tim is survived by his wife of 47 years, Beverly (Craig) McCaw; his children Melissa McCaw (Timothy McGuire) and Christine DeVille (Chad DeVille), and his grandchildren Brenna and Ian McGuire, and Zachary, Caitlin, Camden, Lauren, and Amelia DeVille; siblings Carol (Robb) Gass, William (Judith) McCaw, Kathryn (Gregory) Bush, and many loving nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held this summer. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mid-Michigan Honor Flight, www.midmichiganhonorflight.org , or a charity of your choosing. Condolences for the family may be offered online at www.reynolds-jonkhoff.com .
