Timothy M. Shannon, Sr., 56, of Traverse City, MI lost his very short battle with cancer. He passed away suddenly at home, on February 12, 2021 with loving family by his side.
Tim was born on October 15, 1964 in Jackson, Mississippi to the late Patrick and Dorothy (Owen) Shannon. He married Julianne Campbell-Misiolek on January 18, 2002. They shared 20 beautiful years together. He is preceded in death by his sister's, Dawn and Cathy, and brother's, Frankie and Johnny. He is survived by his wife Julie, of 19 years, a brother, Michael Shannon, his son's, Timothy Jr. and Corey Shannon. His stepson's, Justin and Kyle Misiolek, his beloved collie, Zip, and many more kin.
Tim is a Gulf War veteran of the U.S. Army. He believed very strongly in his faith, God and family, (he missed his southern family terribly). He was hoping to be here long enough to enjoy some grandchildren, but gone too soon!
Tim was wise beyond his years. He was very strategic, had a creative and BEAUTIFUL mind. He was an avid poker player (his dream was to become a WSOP champion), enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia, nature, football and family. He was a private man who enjoyed "his" time, as well.
Tim worked many unique jobs, from tile setter, security, financial advisor, lead slot attendant, to the latest being a juggie in the oilfields. He became disabled in 2007 which made it so he could no longer work.
A private family gathering will take place at a later time. Cremation has taken place.
