TRAVERSE CITY – Timothy Scott Snyder, age 56, of Traverse City, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2020.
Tim was born in Traverse City on September 12, 1964 to Irwin George "Butch" Snyder and Tinia (Shattuck) Snyder-Penney.
Tim grew up in Kingsley where he attended school. He enlisted in the United States Army where he served our great nation and was honorably discharged in 1983. After being discharged, Tim moved back to Kingsley and began his life of adventure. Anytime Tim could be on the road, driving an 18-wheeler, exploring new places, he was happy. Tim also worked at Morse Moving and Storage of Traverse City and Corigan Moving Systems in Dearborn, MI running warehouses.
Tim and his brother, Rob enjoyed canoe trips down the Manistee river and more than anything riding their Harley motorcycles together. Tim had a love for animals and especially his dog, Cheyenne. Tim was a fun loving, caring, compassionate, and selfless man, who cherished spending time with his family and friends.
Tim is survived by his mother, Tinia, step-father, Sheldon Penney, brother, Robert Snyder, sister, Susan (David) Irish, nieces and nephews; Lindsay (Chris) Roop, Nicole (Josh) Nix, David Irish, great nieces and nephews; Alivia, Davis, Savannah Nix, Dean Roop "Butch Jr.". Tim also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Tim was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, and niece.
A visitation for Tim will take place from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at the Kingsley Baptist Church where a celebration of Tim's life will begin at 11:00 AM. Tim will be laid to rest at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens immediately following the service where military honors will be held.
