Obituary

Tom Gray of Traverse City, passed away on Saturday, May 27th, 2023.

Tom was born and raised in Waltham, Massachusetts. He had many loves. He loved his country by joining the Air Force and serving in Germany.

He loved the water. It took him from his childhood on Crane's Beach in Ipswich, Mass. to Elk Lake and presently to East Bay on Old Mission Peninsula.

He loved working with people. He owned and operated a Shell Gas Station in New Jersey to owning and operating Northwest Engine Exchange for 26 years in Acme.

He was grateful to employees and customers during his years in business.

Tom loved constructing things. He designed and built a sea wall at his home on Elk Lake. He was inspired to build a 1965 replica Shelby Cobra, a three-year project.

But, most of all he loved his family. This brought him immeasurable joy and contentment. No matter if it was a phone call, relaxing on the deck or a game of cribbage, he cherished the moment.

He is survived by his wife, Suzanne, sister, Sally, brothers Marshall and Russell, children Amanda (John), Ryan, Shawn (Mike), Grant (Wendy), grandchildren Brittany, Courtney, Samuel, and Gabriel.
