Travis Neil Olson, 84, of Traverse City passed away October 6, 2017 at Munson Medical Center with his beloved wife by his side.
Travis was born on November 19, 1932 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to the late Leonard and Sylvia Olson.
On August 22, 1959, Travis married the love of his life, Lucile Mae Anderson in Grantsburg, Wisconsin.
Travis graduated from the University of Minnesota with a PhD in pharmaceutical technology and industrial engineer. He worked for Parke Davis which eventually became Pfizer for 30 years. In his spare time during retirement he enjoyed making furniture. He was a master woodworker. He and Lucile also enjoyed traveling around the world after he retired. They were members of the First Congregational Church.
Travis is survived by his wife of 58 years Lucile and many friends and colleagues.
The memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 11:00 am at the First Congregational Church. A light luncheon will follow in the fireside room.
Memorial contributions in memory of Travis may be directed to the First Congregational Church.
The family is being cared for by Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
