Tristan Marie Dostal

Tristan Marie Dostal, 36, of Traverse City, passed away January 17, 2023.
She was born May 23, 1986 to Dean Dostal and Rhonda Dostal in San Antonio, Texas. She is one of three children, leaving behind a sister and a brother.
Tristan was a fun loving, heartwarming, kind and gentle soul. Her best attribute most say is her selfless demeanor and ability to help others without hesitation. Her solace was when she was out in nature. She found peace and tranquility with all when she could breathe in the fresh air and see all the wonders that were created. She loved going to the beach, especially the girl trips with her mom, reading a good book, especially a mystery or doting over animals, especially her dog, Cubbie and cat, Cadou. She was an incredible writer and an amazing listener. But most of all, her true passion was helping people. She really was a genuine humanitarian.
After graduating high school, she received a bachelor's degree from Grand Valley State University. It is there, she learned her goal and role in the world. To be a social worker/life coach for people, especially the recovery community. She was employed by Michigan Works as a Life Coach and was not only honored by the title but she was also humbled to be able to serve.
You always knew of her presence. Her smile would light the room up and her laughter was beyond contagious. With heavy hearts we will all miss this.
Tristan is survived by her mother Rhonda (Gary Owen - fiancé) Dostal, her father Dean (Sam Cullen - fiancé) Dostal, siblings Taylor Renee Dostal and Travis (Britani) Dostal, aunts Debbie (Bob) Biggs and Risa (Fred) Seibold, as well as uncles Ryan Johnson, Doug (Tanya) Dostal, Derek (Larissa) Dostal and Drew (Dena) Dostal. She also leaves behind her little nephews Dean and Dax, grandmother Peggy Johnson and special cousins; Emily, Nate, Colden, Mason, Mary Ellen, Jason and Heather.
She is preceded in death and being greeted by her grandparents; Herb and Dorothy Dostal and Larry Johnson as well as Uncle David Dostal.
A celebration of life will take place Wednesday January 25, 2022 at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Visitation will take place from 2-3pm with services beginning at 3pm.
Those wishing an expression of sympathy are encouraged to take a walk in nature, to stop and listen to the birds and to watch a butterfly float past. All these things in memory of Tristan.
