TRAVERSE CITY – Vera Grace Chedister, age 85, of Interlochen, MI passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Munson Hospice House in the loving care of her family.

Vera was born on February 18, 1932 to Henry and Luella (Haywood) Erickson in Good Harbor, MI. Vera was a native and resident of the Leelanau County area where she lived most of her life. Vera was a hardworking homemaker and diligent employee. She worked for Setwell, Lindberg Plastics, Benjamin Twiggs, displayed her incredible cooking talent to the students of Northwestern Michigan College and retired from Carpenter Enterprise
Vera enjoyed gardening, and particularly had a love for "perty" flowers. Vera enjoyed putting paint on just about anything she could, she treasured fishing and camping with her husband Harv, adored her puppy; Lucy and most importantly she had constant, and immense love for her entire family: grown-ups or children alike. She will be deeply missed by all.

Vera is survived by her children, son, Neal Wilson (Denise), Interlochen, daughter, Linda (partner Lane) Wilson, Grand Rapids, grandchildren; Andrew (Amanda) Wilson, Maple City, great-grandchildren; Holly, Logan, and Ellie Wilson. Vera is also survived by a plethora of nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed

Vera was preceded in death by her parents, her 12 siblings and her husbands; Harvey Chedister (1995), and Maurice Fritz (2015).

A visitation for Vera will take place from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home on Friday, November 3, 2017. A memorial service for Vera will take place at 3:00 pm at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home on Saturday, November 4, 2017 with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will take place at the East Kasson Township Cemetery on November 11 at 10am.

The family asks that anyone who wishes to send flowers to please consider Vera's love for gardening, and her love for perennials as the family plans to plant the perennials in her honor come spring.
