Vera Bardwell Harris Gould, age 101, of Traverse City, Michigan passed away on June 7, 2023 at home. Vera was born January 20, 1922 in Royal Oak, Michigan to the late Earl and Beulah Gray Harris.

Vera led a long and active life as a homemaker, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a friend to all she met and will be forever remembered by her welcoming, friendly smile, caring spirit and compassionate way. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church of Traverse City.

She was the oldest of six children and was raised during the difficult time of the country's economic depression. As she was the family's oldest, she had the extra responsibility of helping at home.

She married Robert Eston Gould on November 7, 1941 and enjoyed a wonderful marriage of 66 years. In retirement they spent most of their time in Bradenton, Florida.

Vera's last 13 years were spent at Glen Eagle Senior Living in Traverse City. She loved living there and was often asked by the management to meet and greet new residents as she had such a warm and friendly personality. She was particularly noted for her hobby of making small very unique gift boxes of yarn and construction fabric. She made them in the hundreds and gave them as gifts to the other residents and friends.

Vera is survived by her two sons, Robert Alan Gould of Traverse City, Michigan and Gary Gene Gould and wife Becki of Goodyear, Arizona. Two grandsons, Weston Robert Gould and wife Tina of Oakdale, Connecticut and Chad Alan Gould and wife Brooke of Acton, Massachusetts. Four great grandchildren, Madeleine Elizabeth Gould of Oakdale, Connecticut, Alexis Olivia Gould of Acton, Massachusetts, Emerson Chapin Gould of Acton, Massachusetts and Aaron Robert Gould of Oakdale, Connecticut.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, her four sisters and one brother and her grandson, Colin Jay Gould.
