TRAVERSE CITY — Vera M. Moldenhauer, 95, of Traverse City, passed away Sunday, July 4, 2010, at Grand Traverse Pavilions Birch Unit. Vera was born Dec. 24, 1914, in Merrillan, Wis., to the late Leroy and Mabel (Schoolcraft) Heath. She married the late Lester C. Moldenhauer on June 6, 1934, in Black River Falls, Wis. Together they had three wonderful daughters. Vera was a member of the Eagles. She was a talented seamstress and embroiderer, and loved to cook and bake for family. She was a cook at The Grand Traverse Medical Care Facility and at Interlochen Center for the Arts. Surviving Vera are her daughters, Marcella (Lewis) Roush and Beverly (Steven) Stroh; son-in-law, Stephen Budrow; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; six step great-great-grandchildren; sister, Grace Gohde; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Vera was preceded in death by her daughter, Peggy Sue Budrow; sisters, Dorothy Heath and Opal Hurlbert; and brothers, Floyd, Oscar, Francis and Gerald Heath.A memorial service celebrating Vera's life will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, July, 9, 2010, at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior. Tim Moeggenberg will serve as officiant. A private burial will take place at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be directed to American Cancer Society. The family is being served by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
