Verna Frances Dixon

Verna F. Dixon, age 86, of Traverse City, passed away Sunday, June 27, 2021 in the loving care of her husband and family. Verna was born January 28, 1935 in Williamsburg to the late Carl and Ella (Stites) Orcutt.

Verna and her husband lived most of their lives in the Traverse City area where they raised their family. She was an active Sunday school teacher, worked for IBEW for 9 years where she retired in 1997. She also worked for Prudential, Farm Bureau, and First Peoples State Bank.

Verna is survived by her husband, Eugene Dixon, son's; Steven Dixon, Brian (Peggy) Dixon, Alan (Terry) Dixon, Wesley (Julie) Dixon, daughter, Brenda (Paul) Allen, and sisters; and Marjorie (Dave) Reincke. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Gerald Orcutt, and Leslie Orcutt, and sister, Betty Hall.
A memorial service for Verna will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 17th, 2021 at First Church of the Nazarene in Traverse City. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 10:00 AM.
