Victor Cornelius Bernhardt, Jr., 85, of Leelanau County passed away Monday, July 4, 2022, with his wife at his side.

Victor was born on May 24, 1937 to the late Victor Sr. and Mary (Powell) Bernhardt. Honorably, he served our Country in the United States Army. Following his return from service he met Bonnie Lou Fewless at a bowling alley and eventually married her on March 7, 1970 in Traverse City.

He worked many years at Burwoods and then at Sheffer Collett as a Machinist. Throughout Victor's life he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and sports of all kinds, especially Nascar.

Victor is survived by his wife Bonnie of 52 years, children Phillip (John Glass) Bernhardt, Michael Bernhardt, Mark (Katherine Ritchey) Bernhardt, Ann Marie (Garrison) Koch, grandchildren, Sonny, Winter, and Skye Bernhardt, Ian and Aurelia Koch and Aisling Ritchey and his sister Patricia Wiegert, and many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Victor is preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Virginia, Barbara and Margaret.

Private family services will be held.

Victor's family is being cared for by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
