---- — TRAVERSE CITY --- Victor Heber Cole, 68, of Traverse City, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.Victor was born July 20, 1943, to Heber and Helen Wolfington Cole in Saginaw.Victor served his country as a member with the United States Army in Korea from 1966-67.Vic made his living as a salesman for most his life, and enjoyed meeting and entertaining clientele. He loved having family and friends over for summer picnics, most often being found standing by the grill with a beer in his hand. Vic was quick to entertain others with his colorful jokes and snappy comebacks. He enjoyed fixing things and puttering with woodworking in the garage. Vic was always passing out his completed woodworking projects to family and friends to enjoy. Vic was a member of the VFW Cherryland Post 2780. He will be remembered for his outgoing personality and the humor brought to most any situation.Vic is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, Juanita Lyon Cole, of Traverse City; his daughter, Holly (Nate) Glidden; his son, Ben Crow; his grandchildren, Gabriel and Lily Glidden; one sister, Sandra Hutchins; and a second mom, his aunt, Peg Gatzke. He is also survived by loving in-laws, Mary and Whitney Lyon, Diana and Jon Schumacher, John and Gloria Lyon, Frank and Genevieve Lyon, Ray and Angela Lyon, Mike Lyon, Melissa Davis, Rick and Doris Ellery, Philip and Patti Lyon, Donald and Shelly Lyon, Lura and Mike Ruede; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loving family members and friends.Victor was preceded in death by his parents, Heber and Helen Cole.Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept.28, with visitation one hour prior to the service, at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. The Rev.
