Obituary

Victoria Karen Hains of Traverse City, Michigan passed away surrounded by family on Friday, January 31, 2020 at the age of 68.

Born November 7, 1951, in Wyandotte, Michigan, Vikki was the daughter of the late Victor and Betty (Thomas) Swenders and sister of Kathy (Roger) Williams.

She is survived by her husband and long-time partner, Michael Hains, three sons Ron (Lorna) Brown, Randy (Jennifer) Hains, and Spike (Wendy) Hains, five grandchildren, Hunter Brown, Zack Brown, Jared Popa, Toren Hains, and Devon Hains, two great grandchildren, Olivia and Rylee, and beloved cats Lulabelle and Sophie.

Vikki graduated from Northwestern Michigan College and had a variety of career experiences throughout her life, including office management, marketing coordination, and more recently as a supervisor doing office maintenance. She was also a fitness buff who taught a "Firm Believers" aerobics class in the basement of her church.

She will be remembered for her sense of humor, infectious laugh, love of music (especially Prince), and most of all for her love of her three boys, grandchildren, and the love of her life, Michael.

A memorial service celebrating Vikki's life will take place at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020 at First Baptist Church at 244 Washington St. in Traverse City, with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Pastor Tom Mansfield will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Vikki's name can be made to First Baptist church or Hospice of Michigan, 10850 E Traverse Hwy #1155, Traverse City, MI 49684.
