Vinetta Williams, 97, of Williamsburg, MI went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at French Manor LaFranier Assisted Living surrounded by her loving family.

Vinetta was born on March 20, 1921 in Erie, PA to Lloyd and Margaret (Neff) Titus. Vinetta and Purl "Jack" Lester Williams were married on August 22, 1941 in Ohio. Vinetta raised her family in Peck, MI. She and Jack moved to Williamsburg in 1975 when he retired. They greatly enjoyed the Northern Michigan lifestyle including golfing, dancing, and snowmobiling.

Vinetta was a member of the Traverse City Church of Christ, the Acme Sweetwater Evening Garden Club, and Eastern Star. While living in Peck, she was a member of the Sanilac Saddle Club, was a Girl Scout leader, made wedding cakes, and showed horses & barrel-raced. Vinetta loved to bake bread, pies, and other desserts, make hand-made tied quilts, and took advantage of any excuse to go shopping.

She was a dedicated homemaker and a great Mom who was very involved. She was very proud of her home and was always ready for company. She was a fan of baseball, especially the Detroit Tigers and Traverse City Beach Bums.

Vinetta is survived by her daughter Margaret 'Maggie' (Jack) Messer; son Mark (Beth) Williams; grandchildren Theresa (Jason) Coward, Matthew (Amanda) Messer, Rachel (Chad) Kopkau, David Williams, and Laura (Martin Mulrenin) Williams; and 7 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and an infant daughter Linda Williams.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 2 at 2:00 PM at the Traverse City Church of Christ, 3250 Rennie Street 49686.
