Violet Marie Felker

September 8, 1929 — January 31, 2026

Traverse City – Violet Marie Felker, 96, lifelong resident of Traverse City passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026 at Independence Village. Violet was born on September 8, 1929 to the late Steve and Susie (Depky) Panek. On July 16, 1949. she married Merle Felker at Immaculate Conception Church. Violet was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and Greilikville Extension Group.

In her younger years, she enjoyed walking and riding her bike. She also enjoyed golfing, and downhill and cross-country skiing. She was an exceptional seamstress and an avid reader. Violet will be remembered for her ability to connect with people. She could strike up a conversation with almost anyone. She loved to tease others (especially men) and was always in search of a laugh!!

Violet was preceded in death by her husband and sisters, Jean Durocher and Betty Casier. She is survived by her daughters Cynthia (David) Clark of Traverse City, Gail (Bruce) Westover of Maple City, Lori (Lothar Schroeder) Tomlinson of Grand Blanc and Brenda (Brian) Solan of Albuquerque; grandchildren Courtney, Shawna, Michael, Caitlyn, Dana, Elin, Jennifer, Brett, Kali, Sage, and Jeffrey; great grandchildren Connor, Hannah, Harken, Riggins, Aria, Ketch, Juniper, Chloe, and one more due in late spring.

A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, 2/17/2026 at 1:00 PM at St. Francis Catholic Church in the day Chapel.
