Virginia Boisineau

Empire - Virginia Helen Boisineau of Empire Michigan was born August 13, 1918 and died in Manhattan Kansas at the age of 94. She was born in Port Huron to the late Harold and Neva (Boice) Stone. Virginia was employed at Rome Cable where she served as executive secretary for 22 years. She married Gerard T. Boisineau in 1952 and raised two children. Virginia was secretary of Little League Football Women's Auxiliary and was a member of Helping Hands with her husband. They retired in Empire and the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes in 1988, their favorite place on earth.
Virginia was very proud to serve as secretary for the Empire Area Heritage Museum for 10 years. She also served on the Beautification Committee, Parade Committee, and Centennial Committee for the Village of Empire. She loved big band music and was especially proud to have organized the Bi-Centennial Big Band venue on Empire Beach in 1995.
She loved good food, being around her family and friends and was a legendary pie maker. Virginia never turned down anyone in need of advice, counseling or love and a hug.
She was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Gerard in 2003.
Virginia is survived by her children Jeffrey A. (Theresa Anderson) Boisineau, and Jane N. (Timothy) Sieloff, granddaughter Elizabeth Sieloff.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 12, 2012 at 11:00 am at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Philip Neri Catholic Cemetery.
