Virginia L. Franke

TRAVERSE CITY – Virginia "Ginny" L. Franke, 77 of Traverse City passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Munson Medical Center. Ginny was born on November 11, 1937 in Mancelona, Michigan to the late Frank and Edith (Carson) Severance. She was married to Jack B. Franke on July 3, 1970 in Traverse City. She graduated from NMC, with a medical administrative degree. Ginny had been employed with Cone Drive in production control and sales. She was also the office manager for Karin Olson MD. Ginny retired in 2003. She loved to read and had a great sense of humor. Above all spending time with her family was Ginny's greatest joy.

Ginny is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Jack, two sons and four daughters; Jon (Diana) Schumacher, Mary Schumacher, Steven (Sheila) Franke, Susan (Arthur) Hogarth, Cynthia (Eric) Sudekum and Deborah (Greg) Bush; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers; Bill (Janet) Severance and Frank Severance as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Kathryn Severance, a brother, Donald Severance and a sister-in-law; Darlene Severance.

A funeral service honoring Virginia will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday July 20, 2015 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth St., Traverse City, MI 49684, with visiting one hour prior. Minister Tim Severance will officiate.
