---- — McELHATTAN, Pa. — Virginia "Ginny" Heimer, 84, of McElhattan, Pa., died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010, while visiting her sisters, Margaret Player and Loraine Wallace, in Traverse City.Ginny was born Aug. 24, 1926, in Petoskey, and was the daughter of Frederick and Corinne M. Brown Turner. She was married July 8, 1946, to Lewis A. Heimer Jr., who preceded her in death on Nov. 22, 1999.Ginny graduated in 1944 from Thomas M. Cooley High School in Detroit.After graduation she worked at the Industrial National Bank in Detroit until her marriage, when she moved to Mill Hall, Pa.She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was past Regent of the Lock Haven Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was also an associate member of the Job Winslow Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Traverse City.Ginny is survived by her two sons, Lewis A. Heimer III, at home, at Jon W. Heimer, of Granbury, Texas; her above-mentioned sisters, of Traverse City; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Alan F. Turner.Private services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 1, at the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven, PA. The Rev. Susan Champion will officiate.
