Virginia Oralee Hibbard

Virginia Oralee Hibbard, 91, of Traverse City passed away February 1, 2017.

Virginia was born on May 21, 1925 in Lansing, MI to the late Jay and Pearl (Tucker) Knickerbocker. She married William Hibbard and together they spent many wonderful years together.

Virginia worked over 30 years at Munson Medical Center as a manager of the Medical Records Library. She was a member of the Elks Lodge. In her spare time she enjoyed crossword puzzles, hula hooping, reading, and especially watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Sailing and spending time with her family also brought great joy to her.

Surviving Virginia are her children, Richard Dingman, Dawn (Michael) Fisher, Debbie (Pat) Aldrich; step-children, Kathleen (Dale Schneider) Hibbard, Vickie (Willis) Hanks, Kevin (Laura) Hibbard; several grandchildren; many great grandchildren; her sister Joanne (Victor) Lootens and many other loving family members and friends.

The family would like to thank Orchard Creek and Hospice of Michigan for the special loving care they provided to Virginia over the last several days, months and years.

A memorial service will be held at 11am on Monday, February 6, 2017 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home with the visitation beginning at 10am. Pastor Ted Smith will officiate.
