Virginia "Jean" R. Serocki, 90, of Shelby Township formerly of Maple City, Michigan passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 11, 2023. Jean was born on November 2, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Thomas and Johanna (Balcerowiak) Moskwa. She married the love of her life, Ernest J. Serocki on November 11, 1950 in Detroit. He preceded her in death on January 22, 2016.

Jean was a faithful and active member of St. Rita – St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maple City. She enjoyed needle work as well as working in both her vegetable and flower gardens.

Jean is survived by her loving daughter, Deborah (Steve) Sawka, her three grandchildren; Andrew (Adina) Sawka, Emily (Christopher) Mallory and Natalie (Adam) Harvey. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren; Nicholas, Alexandria and Elizabeth and her dearest friend, Rita Wilson.

She was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Serocki and three brothers; Norbert Moskwa, Ervin Moskwa and Edwin Moskwa as well as a sister, Dorothy Linowski.

A memorial mass honoring Virginia will take place at 11:00 a.m., with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at St. Rita – St. Joseph Catholic Church, 8707 Hill St., Maple City, Michigan 49664. Burial will follow in St. Rita – St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the burial.
