Obituary

Wanda Jeanette Crampton, 83, of Traverse City passed away at Munson Hospital on Sunday, January 08, 2017.

Wanda was born on April 22, 1933 in Traverse City to the late Warren and Alice (Witkop) Hoxie. She married Norman Thomas Crampton on November 26, 1955 also in Traverse City. Together they lovingly raised three wonderful children.

Wanda enjoyed her family and friends and her life on the farm. She loved her garden and flowers. She enjoyed camping and was a member of the "Camping Club" for over 45 years. She was also a member of the Old Mission Women's Club and the Old Mission Peninsula Methodist Church. Buying and selling antiques was a fun hobby for both her and Norman.

Surviving Wanda is her devoted husband Norman of 61 years; children, Jeannie Crampton, Thomas (Sue) Crampton, Timothy (Renee) Crampton; grandchildren, Lucas, Madeline, Matt, Josh, Dave, Becky, and Jennifer; three great grandchildren, Ethan, Alexandra, and Ariella, brothers Jack Hoxie, and Bill (Clarice) Hoxie and many other loving family members and friends.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents and her sister-in-laws, Doris Hoxie and Mary Frances Crampton.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Tree Committee of the Old Mission Peninsula Historical Society or to the Peninsula Community Library.

A celebration honoring the wonderful lives of Norman and Wanda Crampton will take place on Saturday May 20th, 2017 at the American Legion Hall , 4001 Swaney Road, Old Mission Peninsula.
