Wayne Roger Hill, 81, of Williamsburg passed away peacefully after battling cancer and Parkinsons on May 21, 2025.
Wayne was born on October 9, 1943 in Dallas, TX to the late Barney Egbert and Ruby (Davis) Hill.
Wayne served our country honorably as a member of the United States Navy from 1967 – 1968 and then in the reserves until 1971. He served as a security and intelligence investigator in Vietnam.
On June 23, 1973 he married Ann "Annie" Lehnhard in Hindsdale, Il.
Wayne graduated from Abilene Christian University with a BS in Criminal Justice and a minor in Psychology. He went on to get his Master's degree in Psychology at Southern Methodist University and his PhD in Clinical Psychology at The Union Institute.
Following his education, Wayne was a Law Enforcement Officer and Staff Psychologist with the Dallas Police Department for 14 years. Wayne and Annie moved to Traverse City where Wayne first served as Staff Psychologist at Adult Mental Health Services. In 1983, Wayne accepted a position as Staff Consulting Psychologist with the Traverse City Police Department where he would spend 40 years serving his community. Simultaneously, Wayne was President and Founder of Management Behavior Consultants P.C. This allowed him to provide professional services, as well as, consulting services and training programs to law enforcement associations and police departments across the country. Wayne was also a gifted author. He was published in many law enforcement publications and authored his own book entitled, Survival.
Community service was very important to Wayne and he served on many task forces, advisory committees, boards and agencies. In his spare time he loved movies, wrote poetry about nature, was a Black Belt in martial arts, and played guitar.
Wayne is survived by his wife of nearly 52 years, Annie; children Loren (Sean) Glennen, Aimee Olivas, Jonathan (Virginia) Hill and Jeffrey Hill; grandchildren Lorelei, Gunner, Regan, Iris, McClellan, Connor and Cora; and brother Richard (Margie) Byrd.
The memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at 11 am at Williamsburg United Methodist Church. Visitation will begin at 10:30. He will receive full military honors from the VFW Cherryland Post #2780.
