Obituary

Wendell E. Parker, 88, of Traverse City passed away peacefully on November 8, 2021 at Meadowbrook in Bellaire with his family by his side.

Wendell was born on March 11, 1933 in Webberville to the late Ronald E. and Lola J.(VanOrden) Parker.

On June 14, 1953, Wendell married Mary K. Menovske at the First Presbyterian Church of Mason.

He served honorably in the United States Army.

Wendell worked in the Tool and Die Industry. He started with Demmer as an apprentice and then went on to supervision. He then was with Essex Wire / United Technologies and later went on to Pine Crest Engineering. He finished at Kelsey Hayes / RocTec where he developed machinery that was later patented. He finished his career creating his own business in Die design.

He was a member of Old Mission Congregational Church and the American Legion. In his free time he enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, skiing and sailing. He and Mary also enjoyed traveling. They especially loved cruises where they visited the Mediterranean, the Baltic, Hawaii and Alaska. They also enjoyed camping and visited all 50 states and parts of Canada.

Wendell will be remembered for his creative mind, wonderful sense of humor and kind spirit.

Wendell was preceded in death by his parents; brother Weldon and grandchildren Brianne Parker and Owen Parker Williamson.

Wendell is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary; their children Ronald (Terri) Parker, David (Paula) Parker and Ann (Tom Allerton) Parker: grandchildren Nikia, Wesley, Aubrey and Ross; and eight great grandchildren.

The memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 11 am with visitation beginning at 10 am at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Kindly be masked and vaccinated to attend. You may watch the service online at www.rjfh.tv .
