Wilfred Swinton Henderson, Jr., 95, of Traverse City, passed away November 1, 2014 at Bortz Health Care Facility in Traverse City. Wilfred was born July 28, 1919 in Madison,ME., to Wilfred Swinton Henderson and Ezalie(Smith).
Wilfred known to his friends and family as Bill, owned and operated Henderson Cabinet Craft for 27 years in Collegedale, TN and then started Henderson Carbide and Diamond, Inc. in Carrollton, GA. where he worked until his retirement.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Mary (Bennett), Son; James(Maria) Henderson of Altamonte Springs, FL., daughters; Betsy Henderson(Brad Hokanson) of Edina, MN., and Anita(Paul) Riess of Traverse City, grandchildren, Todd and Nathan Henderson and Tamila Treber, and four great grandchildren, brother Maynard Henderson of Brunswick, ME., 2 nephews and five nieces.
Visitation will be held on Friday November 7 from 5-8PM at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home and a Funeral Service will take place Saturday at 3Pm at the Traverse City Seventh-day Adventist Church with visitation one hour prior.
