Listen to Obituary

William "Bill" Eisner, age 86, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2026, with his loving family by his side and leaving behind a lifetime of memories and countless lives touched by his kindness, humor, and unwavering dedication to his family.

Bill was born on March 3, 1940, to Arthur and Isabelle (Blonshine) Eisner.

Bill proudly served in the US Army Reserves, worked his entire life in construction industry, retiring from Comstock construction in 2000, and was a proud member of Local 202 Carpenters Union.

Bill was a hardworking man who believed in doing things the right way and never shied away from a challenge. He took pride in providing for the people he loved and could always be counted on when someone needed a helping hand. His strong work ethic and simple practical nature were qualities admired by all who knew him.

But perhaps what people will remember most was his sense of humor. Whether it was a perfectly timed joke, a mischievous prank, or simply a funny story around the table at deer Camp, he knew how to make people laugh and smile. He even found humor in being confronted face to face with a black bear while out in the woods picking blackberries and he loved to tell that story. Those who knew him best wilt surely have a Story -or two-to share about one of his famous antics.

Bill loved traveling around the Country, spending winters in Florida with family, driving through Hoosier Valley, deer camp with the boys, blackberry picking, country music, Burger King cokes & whopper ft.'s, watching NASCAR races from the comfort of his recliner, but most of all he loved teasing, practical jokes, and making people laugh.

Above all else, Bill loved his family deeply. They were his greatest pride and joy. He cherished the time spent together, the conversations, the celebrations, and even the everyday moments that may have seemed small at the time. His love was shown not only through words, but through everything he did for those closest to him. Bill leaves behind his beloved wife Dolores; his daughter, Wendy (Bob) Alpers; his sons, Willy (Janet), Wally (Denise), Wade (Joanie), Billy (Kim) and step-sons; Scott (Nicole) and Mark (Stephanie) Blonshine; along with IO grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, as well as his sisters; Teresa, Ann, Sharon (Mike), and Debra (Bill) and brother; Raymond (Carol). Bill is preceded in death by his brother Jim and brother -in- laws, Harlan Maue and Ted Zvirblis.

Though he will be deeply missed, his sense of humor, his smile, his laughter, his lessons, his hard work, and his love for his family will live on in the people he leaves behind. His legacy is not measured only by what he accomplished, but by the love he gave and the memories he created.

He worked hard, loved deeply, and never missed an opportunity to make someone laugh. He will be forever our greatest mentor and friend and never forgotten.
